The two stalls test. Which would you visit?

I remember the cartoon.

It featured two stalls in a large hall.

The first stall advertised ‘Comfortable Lies’.

The second stall, ‘Uncomfortable Truths’.

There was a huge queue waiting at the first one, snaking back on itself.

There was no one waiting at the second.

The vendor sat alone.

It was a cartoon about the nature of the leadership we offer.

What do we give our team?

Though there’s a bigger truth than that in the cartoon.

We’re all hard-wired to seek out the comfortable; it’s undemanding.

But this autumn, we’ll benefit from dropping in on the stall that offers ‘Uncomfortable Truths’.

It’s how we grow.
